Blurb:
How do you come back from the point of no return?
Seth McCoy was the last person to see his best friend Isaac alive, and the first to find him dead. It was just another night, just another party, just another time where Isaac drank too much and passed out on the lawn. Only this time, Isaac didn’t wake up.
Convinced that his own actions led to his friend’s death, Seth is torn between turning his life around . . . or losing himself completely.
Then he meets Rosetta: so beautiful and so different from everything and everyone he’s ever known. But Rosetta has secrets of her own, and Seth will soon realize he isn’t the only one who needs saving . . .
It's no secret that I love books written from the boy's POV, but I'm also VERY picky about boy's POV as well. I need it to sound authentic. I need to really be able to lose myself in the voice and believe its a teen boy, which doesn't happen all the time. But... I found it with this book! Love, love, LOVED it!
Seth had a great voice and I really, really felt for him while reading this book. He'd been through so much and wasn't quite sure how to deal with it. He had his friend and brother who don't understand. People who will always see him a certain way no matter what he does and the weight of the death of his best friend always there. He's that boy from the wrong side of the tracks. The one who in so many ways feels like he doesn't have a shot...and then he does and its just made of awesome. I loved getting inside his head. Seeing how he thinks and seeing that spark of hope inside him. That tender heart buried beneath the pile of crap life had dealt him.
To say it simply.... Seth is a hottie. One of my favorite kind of book heroes to fall in love with. I'm a sucker for a well written tortured hero :)
The romance really surprised me in this. I wasn't sure how much romance would be in it, but the relationship between Seth and Rosetta was solid, and sweet. I loved watching them learn from each other and seeing their relationship grow. I love that even though Rosetta looks perfect from the outside, she has her issue too. And even though she's the country club girl, it is never once an issue for her in regards to Seth. She is just as comfortable in his rundown trailer as in her big house on the hill. She's never ashamed of Seth or their relationship which was a breath of fresh air as a reader. There's never a point where Seth and Rosetta have the "secret relationship" because their friends just wouldn't understand.
I really liked watching Seth's growth as he realized things aren't always how they seem.
Awesome book.
Awesome romance.
And Seth is just too cute for words.
Check it out. You won't regret it.

I love that cover. This sounds like one I'll have to pick up!
Kelley, you cost me a freaking FORTUNE in books, but I have to put this on my list. Also, LOVE that cover.
I liked this book a lot. The romance was my favorite part of the novel.
I'm always amazed when a woman gets a young boy's voice so well, and vice versa.
Glad to see that you enjoyed it, and I too, love that cover :)
